What's it about, dudes?

eXtreme is narrative TTRPG for one GM and 2-5 players set in a 90's superhero universe. Heroes have become edgier, costumes more ludicrous, artists go wild with action scenes while writers have to string things together with bad dialogue and plot holes. you're still fighting evil like the golden age heroes before you, but you're not afraid to get down and dirty, because that's what sells your title, baby! Remember: the only thing worse than death - is getting cancelled!

Yeah ok but the system?

the game uses a simple-to-understand dice pool system based on a character's narrative approach, and a group of players can be up and running with characters in under an hour. players choose a role from one of nine roles (eleven are included in the collector's edition) that ecapsulate the archetypes found in 90's hero comics, and have many pages of roll tables to generate their character's powers, weapons, costumes, nemeses and much more! players also pick their tropes, teammates that they have a role-specific emotional connection to, and roleplaying with these tropes is tied to generating extra dice for their pool. go big on the drama, mama!

note: eXtreme is, right now,  a fully working game with a bunch of content, but i'm coming up with new ideas all the time, so i'll be adding extra stuff to the collector's edition as i finish things. most bodacious, guys

Sounds rad, is there pictures?

the book is fully illustrated with rad 90's style art (or at least my attempt at it! i had to re-learn how to draw with all the bad habits of the era, shit got wild) with eye-poppin' 90s layouts and colours, evocative of the era.

OK but does it cost me big dollars?

the game comes in two editions: 

the newsstand edition: essentially a 'quickstart', but is a complete book by itself. it has everything you need to start playing and loads more - it's most of the book tbh! for free! now that's value, baby! just don't forget to leave a rating or even a review!

the collector's edition: which has all the contents from the newsstand edition, plus a whole new chapter of bonus content, including alternate rules, GM extras and two exclusive roles for your players: the Outdated, a hero from the classic golden age of comics trying to fit in with this edgier, darker, cool era; and the Renegade, an anti-hero whose approaches to violent justice might even be too much for their teammates. (this edition will recieve updates and content as i create it, and all  purchasers will be able to download updates ith no extra cost!) and what collector's edition is complete without a FOIL COVER?! okay, 'foil-themed' cover, because, you know, it's a pdf
